During the early days of the pandemic, I found myself like most people feeling sad and bored. But not just bored, it was something more – I felt uninspired. Without travel, restaurants, live fashion and in person conversation, I felt like everything became mundane, prosaic, devoid of imagination. I turned to art, and began collecting. I collected mostly pieces that reflected a sort of escapism, or a dreamy quality – art that removes the viewer from their current reality, albeit temporarily. I soon ran out of walls, and at that point the Art House idea was born.
This is our first Art House, hopefully one of many. It’s a vacation rental that’s also an exhibition. It’s important that the space itself is also inspiring whether that be from its architecture, its interior design or its view onto something incredible. I hope that our guests will not only relax and recharge, but be in awe of something. For some of us – a feeling that we’ve missed for far too long.
I hope to see you soon at the Art House.
